I am new to the hobby, and have a 1.5" Royal Blue Tang that I have had in my tank for 3 weeks. I think the tang has HLLE, but would like more vetran opinions and suggestions for treatment.

The tang has been eating Emerald Entre since entering the tank, and once the clowns were introduced, marine cuisine & Cyclo-peez were added as well. The Tang likes the Cyclo-peez the best.

The tank is a 24G JBJ NanoCube with 40lbs LS, 15lbs LR, clean up crew, 2 Juvinile (>1") False Perc. Clowns (introduced to tank 3 days ago), and 1 1" Green Ricordia coral.

SG 1.024
Ph 8.0
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 20
Temp 79-82

Any help is appreciated.

Yes, that does indeed appear to be MHLLE. You can read more about this ailment here, http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-06/sp/index.php

Hi Ryan

It also looks like it has ick starting on the fins. I would deal with that as we'll before you have bigger problems.

Lisa:)

Lisa, did you come to that conclusion from the 1 white spot on the bottom fin? I am pretty sure that is just a particle in the water that got in the picture. The other pictures I have and an inspection do not show that white spot.

If it was not because of that, pleasse let me know.

Thanks!

Ryan

Hey Ryan

Nope i could be wrong just an observation:)I was looking at the side fin. But that could be just debris as the bottom fin.

Hope you can get him all fixed up.
