Durso Standpipe problems

The durso style is very loud gargallings sound.Have a hold in the top and along the side. Should the whole Elbow be submerged? Do i have too many holes?

To many holes - ONLY one on the top.
The elbow can be 1/2 to 3/4 under the water, but NOT submerged.
Start with a 1/16" hole on top and watch the flow.
Only increase the hole dia. if need be.

1' drain - 1/34" bulkhead - - 1 1/4" durso pipe ????
Not 1" pipe doesn't work.
