tanks' different moods...?

i was just wondering if anyone else notices sometimes their tank looks extra nice... i don't really know how to explain it but sometimes i come home and the tank just looks stunning... it's really the small things that i can't put my finger on... for example, the water might look extra clear or something like that... i don't know if it's just my mood affecting how i see my tank... or it might be the inconsistency in the MH lighting and how it colors the tank differently (if even there is such a thing)...

My tanks looks good some days, and not others for no real reson that I can tell. I also go through periods where one type of coral will grow like crazy, then slow down, then another type of coral will take off. Then start all over again.

I've noticed this too -- those rare days when the water is crystal clear, every coral is fully expanded, there's no algae on the glass and the fish are serenely swimming together (my fish seem to have 'moods' too) are precious. I've been working on getting the water chemistry to settle after going BB and it's hard to keep the temperature down in this heat wave... as a result, I've been waiting for my tank to come out of its current bad mood for about a month now, lol :)

Great post. I always love my tank, but some days it is so crystal clear it is just amazing. My husband usually comments on those days as well.

i usualy get that look when i turn on the lights in the middle of the night..... i guess everythings moving slower it seems ( fish) and then the water seems clearer also

Absolutely! It's been 90F + here lately, and that's without the humidex. When you factor in the rediculous humidity (think Florida here), it's phenomenally hot here right now.
