kh salinity ?

I tested my aquarium yesterday and the salinity was high around 1.028 and KH was around 12 DKH so I added some RO/DI water to get my salinity down it is now at 1.025 what i thought was strange was that my kh went up to 18 DKH. Any ideas maybee bad test i checked it three times and came up with the same each time.also nitrites 0, nitrates are high at 40, ammonia 0, ph 8.2 tested with Aquarium pharm test kit.

Doesnt make sense. Could be a bad kit ? Try mixing a gallon of new salt water to 1.025 and test it. Let us know what brand salt and result.

tested some pre made from the lfs that i had and it was at 1.025 and dkh 11 retested my tank and it was still 1.025, dkh 18 i am at a complete loss as to how thias could happen

You didnt add any pH buffer did you ?

actually yes i did yesterday morning my ph was low 7.8 so i used the proper ph 8.2 i am guessing that can throw things out of whack?
