View Full Version : what kind of water to use for a leak test?

is tap ok? what about contaminants?

should i just go with the safe r/o?

the question seems kind of nub, but this is the nub forums. =)

hey keep your nub to yourself! :D

I've always just used tap water for testing, just drain it completely afterward and dry it out and you'll be all set.

yeah i used a hose for mine cause it went a lot faster..t hen used a pump to take it all back out quick and toweled it off

Tap water should be fine. I used tap water to even wash mine out before setting it up. If it worries you just add some water treatment to the salt water when you put it in.

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.....

When i set mine up I actually used hose to test and to fill.....

Only because tap here is pretty good....underground springs filtered and add chlorine and flouride....

Even them after i mixed water i let it set for three days....adding prime everyday in small doses
