Can I use any Co2 regulator with my soon to arrive calcium reactor? Reason I ask is of course anything reef related cost more dinero just because its reef gear. I found a beer keg regulator with double gauges for 49.00 Now compare this to Marine depots 150.00 and you see my interest.

Will I have any trouble using this type of regulator??

so long as it has a bubble counter you are fine..

How do you dial in the bubble rates?? This is a first time for me with a reactor

that really depends on your tank.. someone with lots of sps corals will have a different rate compared to some one with 1 frag. as your needs grow you will have to "dial in" your reactor...

a good rule of thumb is 1 co2 bubble every 6 seconds and 1 Ca effluent drop every 6-10 seconds.. again this depends on your tank...

Gabriel,

One of my biggest concerns, and thanx for your input thus far, is I have heard about cylinders blowing thier popoff safety valves and dumping cubic yards of Co2 into peoples homes. How do we as aquarists safegaurd against this happening. I picture being asphixiated while sleeping/
