hey all, ive been reading about MH lighting for my new 55gal aquarium. im home for the summer and want to have my dad help me build a hood while i still have a month left at home. anyways i really dont know the details of everything involved as far as matching lights w/ballasts, i read a bunch on aquarium lighting guide (http://www.aquarium-lighting-guide.com/directory/diy_projects.php) about setting up your own ballasts w/lights but I need some help. First of all, i plan on having coral/reef w/fish environment, not sure what kind yet but want some vibrant colors.
Question 1: How many bulbs Should I have on this tank.
Question 2: do i need a dual ballast for multiple bulbs?
Question 3: can anyone point me to a ballast/bulb configuration that would suit my needs around $200 range?

any and all input appreciated, thanks in advance guys and gal's
