I am about to change over my Pheonix 14K, it's switch time. I was wondering if anybody has any feedback on the Reeflux 12K 250 DE bulb. Is it blue, a hint of blue or what?

I use them on Icecap ballast. Its pretty white once it burns in (about a 100 hrs) with a slight tint of blue. Definitely not as blue as the Phoenix ( I have used them before too). I have been using them for about 4 months or so now on PFO minis on my 90g mostly sps and Im getting good color and growth.

Same set-up as you IC and PFO mini. So you like it better than the Phoenix 14K? Coral color is better?

what don't you like about the phoenix 14k? I was just thinking of switching to them. I have the 10K XM's now and had 14K Hamiltons before.

I do like them better than the Phoenix. It does seem a tad dimmer than the Phoenix at first. But its plenty bright once it burns in. The Phoenix is a good bulb but, it gave my tank a washed out look. The Reeflux made my tank look crisper.

Since I bought the lighting used, the bulb was only 3 months old. So with that being said, I was wondering if the bulb was getting old as it does give my tank a washed out look. Some of the colors are nice, but..........

I guess I am use to a crisp looking tank with some blue.

anjhof - Why are you going back to 14K?

The 10K XM's are a little yellow and wash out the colors of the corals too much.
