We have a CSS 125 that was being used on our 90 gallon FOWLR. Works great, they seem to be a little finiky at first but once it gets dialed in they are great. Right now we have it on a 240 gallon but i am going to upgrade to a CSS 220 in the near future.

I have the 220 in my sump and think it is really a great bargain.

Some people love them, and the CSS thread will bear this out. I just had no luck with mine.

If you are setting up a 180, I dont think a CSS 220 is even close to being enough skimmer.

I really liked my CSS 220 for my 90g, but no way the 220 will do the job for a 180. Unless you plan on not adding any fish.

so its not as good as its rated?

Honestly, I wouldnt put a 220 on a tank bigger than a 125g thats lightly stocked.

Nope, No where even close. For a good value try ASM. There is also a new skimmer that has people talking. RO (reef octopus)
