Sorry if this is a repeat of a repeat thread, but I'm new to SPS. Though I have several SPS frags from local trades or my LFS, today is the first day I'm receiving SPS via overnight express delivery. So concerning the acclimation procedure, I'll be floating the bags they come in to acclimate temperature, adding small amount of tank water into the bag over a 90 minute period. Then I'll be introducing them to the bottom of the tank and then moving them up gradually to higher light levels. And after removing them from the bags, I'll dip them in lugol's (20 drops per gallon, for 10 minutes... is this enough iodine and a long enough time period?). But many of you expose them to air to get them to "slime". Surely sliming is a stress induced response, so is this doing more harm than good?

Or are there two different camps of reefers, those that feel strongly in favor of stressing prior to tank introduction, and those that feel strongly against it???
thanks.
