There's no objective data on skimmers, but a number of people have reported success with that skimmer.

If you get one, make sure you clean every few days. They are very sensitive.

I have one, I don't know about cleaning it everyday, but the neck does get build up doesn't affect the skimming though. I clean it once every week or so. I have an external collection cup so I don't have to touch it for a week or more.

I would recommend ditching the mag 7 and go with a mag 9.5 for similar. I have an ocean runner 3500 on mine and couldn't be happier. Low wattage and quieter pump than the mag.

I have an EV240 on my 90 w/ 60 gallon sump. I use a mag 18. I have to clean the cup every day. The thing works great though.
