I have been out of the scene for a while and don't know what salt had problems, but I heard one of the major brand has a crazy ALK problem. LOL

Is INSTANT OCEAN still the best one? My tank had some overdose of food and I am afraid an ammonia spike would occur.

I dunon which salt to get, as one of my spots only carry some other brand.

Any ideas? Is IO still safe to use?

I dont think there was any problem with IO, besides a couple of buckets here and there. I use it it my tank and at work. Most of the local people in the hobby around me use it as well.

IO is still a good salt.
There was something going around about a different one but it was'nt IO.

I use IO on several different tanks and havent had any problems. You should be good to go.

If I remember right, it was Kent, not IO - somewhere on the forums was sticky thread about it. My bucket of IO has low calcium, it's all.

It was Kent in the Reef Discussion forum. I use IO and my corals are very happy.
