Sweet Trigger but you really need to get rid of that cyano asap.

purple stoney looks like a purple montipora digitata.

yes i know about cyano. I thought it looked like it was going away but now i just looked at it and it looks worse..... in some spots. i tried that red slime chemical. i have some cheato (spelling) in my fuge i have been told it will remove phosphates if they are in your tank. also my fuge was just setup about 1 week ago. hopefully it will help out soon. any other ideas to get rid of it? like i said in first post i have alot of flow. maybe i should add another small powerhead?

How long have the corals been in the tank when you took the picture?

Looking at the euphyllia seems like it's not liking it in there for some reason. IMO, you need to address the cyano issue (nutrient buildup somewhere) in order for your corals to be happier, JMO.

yea it is looking better now. i had a salinity issue about a week ago. my hydrometer was reading lower than it actually was. it is looking alot better since i got it fixed. it has about 5 new branches startin on it now. it looks discolored because my lights need more actinic. also my camera sucks!!!!

That's good to know, just keep on top of those nutrients and everything will follow. Syphon the cyano until it runs out of fuel, just make sure you're not adding it some place else. ;)

i did that about 2 weeks ago and it came tight back. also my python keeps getting cloged! maybe just a simple syphon into a bucket on the floor will work better.

trigger+coral=bad

more flow will defeat the cyano

cw150 I know many people that have blue throat triggers and even niger triggers in a reef tank with no issues! i guess it all depends on the fish. he is ok and doesnt bother anthing in my tank.

If you are ever adding a trigger on a reef can't go safer than a trigger from the Xanthichthys family. Greg wrote an article for Advance Aquarist on them ;)

yeah, most people do not have any trouble with the blujaw triggers. mine was a model citizen. i kept him with hammers, torch, open brains, sacrophyton, etc... never any trouble. they do grow pretty quick though...

my nigerian blue tang has never given me or my corals or shrimp any trouble, but i had him since he was a baby. Use a conch for the coral. ... he wiped out the last vestiges of mine

what do you mean use a conch for the coral?
