so i'ma be getting one of those L shaped comp desks (that go in the corners of the walls) for my room cause mine currently sucks.

my plan:

the desktop, i'm assuming will be about 18-24 inches wide. i plan to make or possibly buy an L shaped aquarium and set it on the desk. it wont have a canopy, it'll drain down to a 20 gallon long sump, with baffles, skimmer, heater, LR, and possibly cheato and clip on light. inside the tank, everything from my 30 tall will be going in there, except for the 4 SPS, as i dont want to put a metal halide. i'll have a couple of MJ <600 in there + return pump.

i want the tank to be no more than 8 inches tall, with 2 inch sandbed, and about 6 or 8 inches wide pending on the desk. smallest would be 6 inches wide and 6-7 tall, largest (on 24 inch desk) would be 8" wide and 8 7-8" tall. the length of the sides will be determined by the desk's length

livestock will be 1 yellow wrasse, 2 false percs, 1 firefish, possibly will add maybe 2 more fish.

lr will be places sparingling to mildly, with most of LR in sump.

i want the lighting to be mostly actinic and 50/50, i dont want a metal halide as i'll need many to cover the surface area.

questions:

how should i attach lights (pc's) without a canopy??
does the overall setup have any flaws i'm not seeing?
any new ideas that'll make it easier?

thanks

sump will be about 20 gallons, each side of the actual tank should be about 8-9 gallons, so totally about 17 gallons + 20 gallon sump.

I would seriously cut down on the amount of fish you want to put in there. I think two percs and one small fish would be pushing it more than that and i would think you asking for issues. Both aggression and bioload.

i have 3 fish in my 30 tall with 10 gal sump now... so maybe i'll just keep those 3 for this 1.
