I'm needing some advice on setting up a new 14 gallon bio cube I recently received as a gift. I have been in freshwater for years, but have never maintained a saltwater aquarium. Before I set up the tank, I want to do my research and know exactly what I want to do. First of all, does anyone have any recommendations on a good reef book I can buy for beginners, specifically for smaller tanks? Also, does anyone know of any websites that I can go to do more research on the bio cubes and if Oceanic makes a protein skimmer for them? I appreciate all feedback that I can get.
Thank you.

If you look at marine depot (www.marinedepot.com) you will find several skimmers for nano systems.

For more overal info read "Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert Fenner" & "The Reef Aquarium, Volume 1 or 2 by J. C. Delbeek & J. Sprung". After that try "Aquarium Corals by Eric H. Borneman", "PocketExpert Guide: Marine Fishes by Scott W. Michael", "Reef Invertebrates by Anthony Calfo & Robert Fenner" for more specific info on certain genus and species.

Thanks for the information! What is your opinion on the substrate I should use for a small system like this? I looked on the website on marine depot and didn't find a small enough protein skimmer for this system. I already looked at the fusion by current and it will not work in the wet/dry system of the bio cube.
Thanks again for your help!

I hear the fusion is worthless anyway.
I added a Hydor flow rotator and I really like it.

Hey Pactrop,
What is a hydro flow rotator and where do you find one? Are you meaning a power head?
Thanks for the advice!
