This Sailfin Tang had a quite sever case of ick which he recovered from two weeks ago. He shows no more signs of ick, but instead shows a very blotchy coloration all over his body. It seems to go away only for a short period of time when he is eating. Other then that, He is very healthy and shows no signs of illness.

Can anyone tell me what this fishys' problem is? or is it one at all?

THANKS!!

(by the way it may appear in the pictures that he has ick, but i assure you his skin is flat)

Did you remove all your fish and treat them for ich? Did you allow your tank to go fallow for at least 6 weeks? How did you treat the fish?
Secondary bacterial infections often accompany ich and can be treated with antibiotics in a qt [looks as if your fish are in your main?] If you treated with copper or some other meds, it maybe a reaction to the meds

I guess we really need more info to figure this out:)

I have seperated my fish and treated them with copper in the past but have had no luck and lost many fish in doing so. This time I took a different route and used (organic)ich attack in the main tank. I had temperature fluctutions previous to my tang getting ich so I know that was the cause.

Today he looks much better. Even if it is gone I am still curious what it was.

Thanks for the help so far!
