I have heard a lot of good things about the eheim pumps. I'm thinking about getting the 1250, would there be any problem using this pump externally?
You can use them externally if you want.

Unlike Mags (which can be spotty externally), Eheims work great.

I think I'm gonna get this pump for my return on my new tank I'm designing. What would be a good pump recommendation on a closed loop for a 29 gallon?
I just ordered the 1260 for my return and 1262 for the skimmer

I use a 1262 externally for my returns on my 150. Great pump. Dead silent and runs cool.

MD doesn't charge sales tax, even in California. I always forget this too :(

James11,
Thank you for the tip. The 1262 Eheim shows discontinued there. But it was worth the effort :)

theatrus,
I'm glad you posted that, your right ! However, they won't ship for 4 to 6 weeks. IF one is willing to wait there is free shipping.
Again thanks !
p.s. If it went out this week I would buy two now !
