I am going to be setting up a 90gal. soon and would like to know what kind of lighting I should put on it. I want to be able to keep any soft, lps and some sps corals as well as a clam or 3 in said tank.
I was thinking that a 400watt MH with a 15k would be enough but I am not sure. Input would be most appreciated, thanks.

I have a 90 gallon as well ( 48x18x24 )

I use 2x250w halides and supplment actinics along with.

I keep a mixture of differant corals ( some soft, some LPS, clams and some SPS )

It has worked very well for me

I would vote 2x 250W halides as well.

Or a 6-8 bulb T5 fixture.

2x250W seem to be the standard, as with a 4' 90 gallon tank it gives less dark spots than a single pendent. if you want mixed and only sps/clams on top and worried about energy, 1x150W would work too.. but people seem to use 2x250W as the standard right now..
