Ok, I am using an MRC calcium reactor and after running a Salifert calcium test I discovered that my calcium levels are low. I would presume that at one end or another I need to adjust the reactor. The question is, do I need to increase or decrease the bubble count or the drip count? Not sure if this is the right forum to ask in, and I am going to post this thread in the chemistry forum, but I feel like I am more likely to get an answer I can understand here.

First you will need to add calcium and presumably alk by hand to bring your levels up to where you want them.

Then, you will need to increase both the effluent rate as well as the bubble count to maintain those levels in your tank. The best way to figure out what works is the try to keep the same effluent pH and test your ca/alk over the next couple weeks.
