My 18g tank has been running for a little over two months, and i the the last 4-5 weeks it has had a terrible outbreak of enteromorpha macroalgae...the stuff is driving me crazy and ruins the look of an otherwise beautiful tank. In an act of desperation, I bought a Deltec MCE600 ($470) and started running Rowaphos hoping to combat the problem. I also added some scarlet hermits that pick at it, but I would need 100's to make a dent. Has anyone one ever had this problem or have any suggestions? I have about 5 acros attached to my rocks so taking the rock out of the tank is not a consideration at this time, so please do not suggest it. Physically removing it also does not work becuase the algae multiplies through fragmentation...I can't even scrap my glass becuase of the fear of making it spread 100x! Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just a little pertinant info.
I use RO/DI water
27 lbs LR
2" Sandbed (I've been wondering if this could be a problem source...maybe I should go down to 1" or less?)
2 small fish and about 6 corals
150w MH
