My red sea hang on skimmer failed yesterday. Im currently on a total of 100g in my system. Looking to upgrade some day to over 200g display. I need a new skimmer quickly... I want an in sump unit and I have a height of 22" of usable vertical space... Any suggestions?

aquac ev line, the asm g skimmers have a high reputation, or even a euro reef skimmer.

The height will be your limiting factor. I had to go with two smaller skimmers giving me the capacity i wanted. Ultimately I think I like the idea of having two skimmers anyway. ASM G3s will not work they are just over 23" high. Can't find the G2 specs, but if i remember they are reallly close to your requirement.

I have an ASM g3 on my 100gal. now after buying an Aqua C ev 120 and never getting it to work well ( even sent one unit back to the co.).

The ASM blows away the aqua c, they are an inexpensive version of Euro reef.

I am upgrading to a 225 now and don't know if my set up will work ( still have the ev 120 and will try using both... I am going to wait and see )

Another inexpensive unit w/ good reports for not so big tanks = octopus http://www.marinesolutionsinc.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=22_35

For bigger tanks I would look at H&S - at sponser finsreef.com

and Deltec units http://deltecusa.us/proteinskimmers/index.php

for even better producing albeit more expensive machines.
