Hi,
I've had a 150 gallon fish only marine setup for over 15 years. I also have a 120 gallon plant tank piped into it to increase the overall tank volume. I have a protein skimmer, heater, chiller, and calcium reactor, along with a large wet dry filter. I have moved my fish to a friends aquarium while I redo my tank. I want to eliminate the wet dry filter and go with live rock for filtration. Is this a good idea? What is the rule of thumb for live rock poundage, required additives etc. Also, I have the fine white sand substrate. Should I remove all of the sand, clean and reinstall. lease advise.
