I'm wanting to paint some of the pvc pipe that i have plumbed up and over the top of my tank so it doesn't stand out so bad. If any of the painted parts are in the water, does that pose a threat to my system. I wasn't sure if i needed to worry about any types of toxins, etc after the paint dried.

It all depends on the tpye of paint you are using. I think krylon fusion paint can be used to coat pvc and ect and still be safe for the tank.

Fusion is safe, just let it dry till you can't smell it. You can also use the grey pvc they sell for elecrtical conduit. Fittings are limited unless you go to savco plumbing on the web.

www.savko.com also carries PVC fittings and pipe in BLACK. I don't think the white (or grey) is very pretty either.
