I have a 24 gallon aquapod all decked out with a refugium, bakpak skimmer, uv sterilizer, 200W mh lighting, auto top off, and chiller/heater.

Recently my tank has been overheating and I have not been able to find the cause. It has never happened until recently.

Also I am about to go to college and to make my life a lot easier I am going to degrade my lighting and heating to power compacts and a regular heater.

For a 24 gallon aquapod what would the best lighting to use with the least amount of heat be to keep zoo's, softies, leathers, and mushrooms?

I am also going to keep it an open top, I love open tops so it will be fixture lighting only.

Thanks everyone on this site for all thier help!

For zoos, softies, leathers, and mushrooms, you should be more than fine with a simple 2x36w powercompacts over a 24g tank. My 24g nanocube has only 2x36w and I've had great experiences with all of the asked about corals, and even some basic SPSs (montis).
