i am planning on setting my 75gal tank back up. it was a fo w/ lr & ls. reason i took it down was i moved and just now getting slowed down. this time i want to go with a reef setup, but i feel my equipment needs to be updated.

Here's what i have right now.
75gal w/ overflow
15-20gal sump
1-magdrive 350
1-heater
440w vhos
80lds live rock (was)
150lds live sand (was)
seaclone protein skimmer-must replace!

my plan is to go slow and get the tank up and cycled then start adding some softies and some hard corals.

i think the sump i have needs to be updated. here is a descripition of it. it is acrlyic and has 3 chambers. 1st one is real small. enough room for the overflow from the tank and the skimmer. 2nd chamber is where the sand,lr and the alge is. 3rd is where the pump and heater is. i fill it to where the water is 1 inch above the dividers of the chambers. is this right?

SORRY IT WAS SO SHORT!!!

well for one thing that seaclone has to go. I have a Coral Sea 65 on my tank works great. The 125 would do niceliy on your tank and way cheaper option than some out there, that does a great job and actually compete with the more touted ones out there.

yeah i didn't like that skimmer at all. that will be one of the first to buy.

what would be a good size pump to provide good current?
