I am putting a leaf scorpionfish in my tank next week and have pretty much decided that no other fish can go in. I imagine that is doubly true with a lionfish.

A good rule is that any other tankmate should be as big or better yet even bigger than the lionfish. They also enjoy cleaner shrimp, molting hermits, and one took a nibble at my finger ;)

Actually, Leaffish have rather small mouths. I have one with a purple lobster, Hawaiian Hermit, Harlequin Bass, and Longfin Waspfish. He has never messed with any of them. He is almost full grown. They will suck down glass shrimp and other such feeders gustily. I also had for a while a smaller Sargassum Angler he never messed with either.

thats awesome ... your leaf fish is beautiful. not to hijack the thread, ut have you been able to get him onto frozen foods? if not, how much/often do you feed him?

I should have said "Halloween Hermit Crab." I have no idea what Hawaiian Hermit is other than a small polynesian man living alone in the volcanic mountains on the Big Island.

My Fuzzy Dwarf never tried to eat my 4 lyretail anthias, and only the largest of those 4 is 3" long, the others are less. He was in a 180 though so all of the other fish with him were much bigger.

my fuzzy dwarf is a model citizen. I have a pair of true percs, Friedmandi's pseudochromis, scissor tail goby, half black mimc tang, lawnmower blenny, royal gramma and the fuzzy dwarf lion. He is a cool fish. PIGGY
