I have set up my 20G reef for 8 or 9 months now after taking down a 275 due to time and financial constraints. I usually stick to completely reef-safe inverts and have only tried limited amounts of echinoderms due to my paranoia of them. I have had success with linkia stars and serpent stars but have always loved urchins.
My question is regarding urchins in small tanks. I am aware that Diadema sp. would be a bit more "tidy" in their boring behaviour than pencil urchins but despite my love of these animals i feel adding one would be a huge headache and not worth the trouble. However i seek other opinions to finally decide whether or not to add one. My fears are that it will eat all my coralline, soft corals and LPS in this small system as they are known to do at times.
Your opinions will be greatly appreciated!
