i was cooking some rock in my basement in a tub with a rio pump. the rio cracked and leaked all into the water. i rinsed off the rock. is it ok to put it into a tank

I would let it run with new water for a couple of days changing the water every day or even 2 times a day just to be sure. better safe than sorry.

I'd run some carbon filtration in the container with your rock for a few days, changing it out a few times.

I was just reading another thread with a Rio that had cracked, he had his water tested by a lab and found 70ppB copper, Randy suggested not re-using the rock or sand from that tank.

Run some polyfilters. And leave it for a week or two. When the polyfilters start changing color, then you'll be ok.

FWIW Wiskey, most of the accepted comercial salts are between 5-10 ppB, so I think he could easily get enough of it out that its not going to be an issue.

it is never ok to put a RIO in a tank...that happened in my display and killed half my ****...

RIO should stop selling their peice of ****ing **** products...i hope the whole damn plant burns down....

What if every product pharmaceutical companys made was defective and blew up???? i am rambling....dont use rio and by no means dont put one that blew up in a tank...

the rock will absorb all the bad stuff and leach it out over time...if i were you i would leave the rock in a rubbermaid with a big deisel skimmer.....chemi pure and polyfilters for a couple of months and then you can put it back in the tank
