Can any other fish live with a frogfish? If so what? Thanks

anything more than twice the size of the frog fish that will not pick on it. they can swallow big stuff

I find a lot of fish, especially things like large angels will constantly pick on them. As long it is at least as big as they are (preferably bigger) and do not eat sponges and graze on stuff that the frogfish is immitating, it should be OK. Also look out for things that will compete with them for food, unless you just really like having very fat fish.

maybe a snowflake eel or something like that ... otherwise, a big passive fish would be a good option.

I knew that question was coming, lol.

I ws trying to think of a good one while I was writing that, but none come to mine at the moment. I knew someone that had one before, but can't remember what he kept with it. Possibly seahorses? That's the only thing that come to mind right now. I'll keep thinking about it though.

I was wondering if they could live with seahorses. My g/f really wants seahorses. Maybe someone could let me know if they would live together.

I think a snowflake may eat the anglers?!?!

Seahorses could work if you got a really small species of frogfish and got big seahorses. I think the snowflake could work okay, snowflakes are not naturally fish eaters so he would most likely leave the frog alone.

in nature snowflakes don't eat fish, they feed primarily on shrimp and crabs. I would imagine, especially if your frogfish is 4" + that it would be fine with a snowflake.

i would worry about the seahorses though.

the frogs are about 2.5" and only get about 4"-6" full grown. I think i may try some seahorses with these guys

One of the pictures in the frogfish chapter of Scott Michael's Reef Fishes Vol. 1 is of a frogfish eating a seahorse. It also talks in the chapter about frogfish even eating lionfish as big as they are with no apparent ill effects to their health. It's too bad they eat everything cause they look awesome.
