I need an auto top off. I was looking at a few of the float swiches on aquahub.com but I DO NOT want to do any DIY-ing. Any Ideas on where I could get a float swich where you dont have to do any wireing. I already have the pump (aqualifter).

Aquahub also sells entire already made products as well.

Many people like the JBJ units and they are a little spendy, or you can really pay up the nose with a Specta Pure LiterMeter or even a Tunze Osmalator.

I made my own auto top off on my 58g (check out melevsreef.com), and also use an aqualifter. I also have a LiterMeter for my 120g. They both pretty much do the same thing except one cost me $20 and the other one way over $100 used.

I just got through hooking up a Tunze Osmolator and man I am really liking it. Not only are they a nice peice of equipment, they give you peace of mind with the safety float switch. Comes with the pump and everything.

I thought the Osmolator uses a pressure-type sensor vs. a float switch?

There is two types. One is the water level sensor and the float is the safety.

But, I spoke a little too soon. Mine is now not working correctly..grrr....

I have used this setup for 9 months now and I couldn't be happier with it. The float activates whatever is plugged into the AC outlets...powerhead, pump, toaster, etc The only mod that I did was to add another float switch($6) in incorporate a failsafe.

I have the Tunze one and if worked great for a few day's but has over pumped 4 times now. I had to lower the safety just above the sensor. I hope I can get it to work.

RevHtree, what problem are you having
