View Full Version : Freshwater reef lake in russia?

Was watching a show tonight on travel channel. They were talking about a lake somewhere in russia that sounded like a freshwater lake that supported reef and other odd animals. I did hear them say that one of only 2 freshwater seals live there. I didnt catch the name of the lake or even what part of russia it was in. Anyone know what I am talking about or did I misunderstand the whole thing.

I think I caught alittle of it -- they said it had freshwater sponges -- not a full reef

I missed most of it, but I got the idea that they were talking freshwater corals.

Ive done some digging and what I keep seeing is the reference to "sponge reefs" in the lake. Maybe thats what I heard.
