I'm setting up a 10g QT tank and I'm wondering if it needs an airstone. Without it, it doesn't seem like there will be enough gas exchange but I haven't seen any mention of an airstone in other QT threads.

Use either a hang on filter like a Aquaclear or an internal sponge filter. Both provide plenty of aeration and you can keep a new sponge to fit it in your sump at all times to have it charged with bacteria when you need it.

Thanks AZ...thats exactly what I'm doing. It just doesn't look like it would aerate the water much. Guess I'm just used to looking at a skimmer. I guess I'll stop worrying about it.
thanks
