I have had my tank up and running for about 5 months now and have never looked in the tank at night. I was listening to the night watching episode on talkingreef.com and became interested to see what nocturnal creatures I might have. I was wondering where I can get a flashlight with a red lens so I don't scare away all of the critters.

You could always buy a piece of red film to put over the flash light , Just goto a army navy store and get a standard army flash light , they come with diff color lenses.

Yep, Walmart, I got one that can change from regular wide beam white to spot beam white to red.

I still have my Fisher Price one from when I was little. You know the yellow flashlight that changes colors when you turn the knob. :D

i bought mine on ebay. it was listed as an LED astronomy flashlight. it's great for camping too, doesn't kill your night vision either.

brinkman LED flashlights from walmart. they are great lights outside of just using the red beams too. i have 2 of them. the big 4 LED one and the single LED one. however they have been replaced with better and brighter ones.

Red plastic wrap from the grocery store on a regular flashlight.
About 3 bucks.

Military surplus. Those L shaped lights have red lenses you can swap in for nighttime use.
