i just picked up a black perc clown and a purple tip sebae anemonea. to start with the clown deff. does not go into the sebae. ????????? thought they would? and the sebae kind of withered up when i shut off the lights in the tank at night and spit out some kind of brown goo. is this normal? should i take it out? how do i know if its not going to be ok. i dont want it to kill my tank. please help

not all clowns will take to a certain anemone. they may take to something else such as frogspawn, mushrooms, xenia, even powerheads. i am not sure about the anemone, as i have never had one.

Don't expect them to pair up right away, it may take awhile, it might not even happen at all. It's perfectly normal for anemones and some other corals to close up at night. The brown goo may just be some waste it is releasing, no worries there. Just keep a close eye on them as you should with all new additions!
