Ok I had a 7G pico tank set up while I was in the middle of setting up my 24G aquapod and had a perc clown and a bi-color blenny in there alone with a scarlet cleaner shrimp. Well one day the blenny started acting weird and breathing heavily and I tried to get him to a QT but he died a few days later. 2 days after that the clown came down with Ick. he's been treated and the tank has been fishless for 3 weeks and will be for another 3 weeks. (switched over from the 7 to the 24) and this blenny was the most personable fish i've ever seen!

I really loved the little guy and was very sad when he died. I want another blenny, but want to know what you guys think about some of the real personable blennys.

Thanks,
Shawn

The blenny with the most personallity is the lawnmower blenny.... They almost become friends with you... LOL

It's very rare for them to get ich. Hopefully you'll have better luck with this one. The lawnmowers are great. In my 52, a lawnmower would be pretty big: I got a tailspot blenny [Foster/Smith] and find him very easy-going and personable.

The snowflake blenny aka starry blenny is also a good one.

Sorry to hear about your loss Shawn....... Beautiful blenny Randy!! Haven't seen one of those before! I love my Midas blenny. Shy for the first week, but almost have him eating out of my hand now! A Midas might be a good choice as they love meatier foods and don't rely so much (if at all) on algae to survive. They are also tough customers and don't take no &#*$ from other fish in the tank! :D

Molly Millers are also have a ton of personality. They are also omnivores and will readily take meaty foods. I'd watch them in a reef tank though, they might nip at clams or ornamental shrimp. If well fed they may not harm anything except their own kind (or fish with similar behavior like hawkfish).

lawnmowers are cool, if only because they're probably one of the top 10 ugliest fish in the wold :D

my vote goes to bicolor. i've had both lawnmower and bicolor, and he is definitely more friendly/goofy

Now I want a Starry, Midas and a Bicolor!!!
I'm particularly diggin that Starry Blenny of yours Randy. Where did you get him? Does he eat prepared foods and/or nori? I had a Lawnmower starve after eating up all the hair algae and I'm hesitant to get another algae eating blenny.

I love lawnmowers as well. Mine is about 4" long and fat as hell. He eats just about anything I put in except brine and mysis. They are crazy to watch.
