mister crabs, it's true. I know, I know it sounds to good to be true. Have the sales clerk scan the cube, it will come up at $1 a gallon!!!

I have done it already in two stores, just ask them to confirm it by scanning the UPC.

Take a look at this thread
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=910996&perpage=25&pagenumber=3

YES, I saw the triangle corner tanks on sale for $1 gallon as well. Try Santa Clarita and Westwood. Westwood has a ton of corners right now.

It seems as if managers are saying "No", but after price checking the UPC, it scans at $1 gallon!

I have confirmed this myself. I turned away from a 40 gallon $250 stretched hex and 40 gallon $250 hex as I like the cubes.

Santa Clarita has a Oceanic Stretched Hex marked as $40 down from $250 everyday price as of last night.

Good Luck all!

(Note: Boxed tanks, any bowfront and tanks above 55 gallon are not included. If you scan a cube in at regular price, make sure they scan adjacent Oceanics, they will come up with the sales price, just need to find them)

Can the oceanic cubes sold at petco be drilled? either on the back or the bottom.

Hell, for $30, I'll buy one.

algundo, I have heard from Reefcentral posts that they are picking them up through out all Petco's. Florida, CA, etc.

The cubes will surely be gone before the end of the week. The rumor is Petco's will be getting new shipments in this week during the sale.

Note:
You may have to ask the clerk to use a hand scanner on the display tank, as most managers think the sale is only for the "All-Glass" brand tanks. The 33 g cubes are coming up time and time again as $33. You pay tax on the normal price. If you pick up an Oceanic at this price how can you go wrong? Hex, Reg, Cube, all good.

I finaly tracked down a cube!

me = happy

Petco = my new friend

Hit em early tomorrow!

Yes. Oceanic 30, 33, 37 Cubes Rule! I have the 37 and love it. It is an awesome tank for a single metal halide bulb solution using an HQI DE bulb.

i dont know about your petcos but ours in redding ca. let their employees buy tanks before the store even opened. one guy bought all four oceanic cubes. other employees bought pretty much everything else worth getting. my brother went there the first day of the sale and the only tanks left were 20 and 29gals. talk about screwed up whats the point of the sale if they sell all the tanks to the employees first.

Well you may think i'm crazy and i'm sure my wife will too when she finds out. I am now the proud owner of 4 cubes and 4 stretch hex's. i'm trying to sell then to make up enough money to keep one of the stretch hexes and maybe even get a stand. so if anyone in northern or central cal is interested just let me know.

is this sale offered in NY petco's as well? because i am looking for a tank maybe larger than 55.

localdeltarider: haha thats funny because my wife thinks im crazy too for having 2 cadlights nano tanks (one 22 gallon at home and one 5 gallon at work on my desktop) i also have a 90 gallon oceanic reef in my house. i think all wives think us fish guys are a little nuts. i love having my tank with me at work, so relaxing and keeps me wanting to get to work early to check up on it.

well after seeing they made different sizes i measured mine at 20x18x22.5 which according to the RC tank calculator comes out to 35.1 gallons so is it a 33g or 36g LOL.
