hello!
I have been having some problems with my ro/di unit and I was hoping somebody could help me out. It is an AquaFX Baraccuda and whenever I use it everything is fine for the first couple of gallons, but then water starts dripping out from the top of the canister. The canisters are on tight and the o-rings appear to be in place correctly. There shouldn't be any kind of corrosion since the unit is new. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you have them too tight and it is smashing the o-rings too much. They only need to be tightened a 1/4 turn with the wrench after it starts to get tight (I don't even use the wrench on mine - just hand tight). Have you checked the seals to be sure there isn't anything getting in the way such as sand, dirt, or something else?

I know there is nothing in the way of the seal, but it is entirely possible hat they are too tight, I'll try loosening them up and see what happens.

If that doesn't work, try using a "tiny" bit of silicone on the o-rings to lube them up. If you have silicone spray that will work if you spray it on your fingers then rub the o-ring.

That or teflon tape ($0.99 roll at your hardware store). A few turns of teflon tape fixes anything leaky :)

Good call;) I didn't want to go there yet if he was able to get a natural seal by attending to the o-rings.

hey guys thanks for the replies, sorry it took be so long to get back, I've been kind of busy lately. Loosening the canisters didn't work out too well, but I put some teflon tape on and it appears to be much better. I didn't try lubing the o-rings because I didn't have any silicone, but I did have some teflon tape lying around. Anyways, thanks a lot for the help, if it starts acting up again I'll be sure to update this thread.
