My neighbor has this coral in her tank, and we are trying to ID it. Anyone know it?

It looks like a type of alveopora or goniopora.

Does it have a stony base? How many tentacles are on each head? Alveopora have twelve, goniopora have twenty four.

Is there any way you can provide a more clear photo? They even look like zoanthids there aside from the raised centers :D

It has a stony base like a sun polyp does. Not sure how many tentacles, She is going to try and count one.

We thought they were a zoo too, but the raised centers threw me off. Then she tickled it closed, and I saw they closed up like a sun polyp.

It looks like a Goniopora to me.

Its commonly called flowerpot coral. Often does well when the tank is new and cycling ie "dirty" then declines as nutrient levels drop. Found in lagoons and slow-moving nutrient rich waters in the wild.

Well, her tank is a 40 breeder, and it has been up and running for a hair over 2 years, with a breif disruption when she moved in the middle of that time.

I'm going to go with Gonipora, but without a picture of the skeleton or it retracted, it's very difficult to tell.
