View Full Version : Automatic Feeding Mode Available?

I'm very interested in the RK2 controller, but do have a question before I buy:

I use an automatic feeder to feed my fish. During this period I would like to have the sump pump and skimmer shutdown. Yeah, I know they can be turned off in Standby mode, but you have to physically push the button and it won't work with the autofeeder. Right?

To solve the problem, I think it would be nice to have these two features:

(1) Add a timer to Standby mode, which can be activated on a given time during the day. This will be the best choice, since I read that there will be a skimmer delay in the new firmware update.

(2) Add the timer option to the sump pump and skimmer channels, so that they can be shut down not only by Standby button, but also at a given time during the day.

I don't know if I missed something that can easily solve this problem. It would be great if someone could point that out to me.

Thanks!

Lake75,

We can't do what you describe currently. But I like the idea of an "auto-standby" mode. I'll through that onto the list of suggestions.

I was thinking the same thing. A "Feed" mode that is a programmable timer to shut off pumps and skimmer for a set time when the feeder dispenses food.

I look forward to that one.

Use it on on/off oscillation.. have it run for say 60 minutes then off for 23*60 (for the other 23 hours of the day) minutes.

But when you use this method to control main pump and skimmer, then you won't be able to use Standby button to turn them off when needed. So, the best solution is till to add a timer to the Standby function. I'm holding off my purchase for now until they have this function.
