I have a high nitrate problem..have tried just about everything to get them down. I havent tried macro algae. Can this algae be kept in a canister filter, or can it be kept in the main tank. I dont have a refugium or sump right now....basically...does anyone know where I can place this algae...and are there different types of macro algae...and if so..which I imagine there is..which works best for phosphate and nitrate removal??

get a small ball of chaeto and it will grow very quick youll be pruning in no time. id go with your main tank canister filter isnt big enough. i went from a sandwich bag full to a basketball in a week and a half.
