How long can they live in the tank? I am feeding them to my leaf fish and want so idea of how targeted the feeding has to be. Are we talking a few minutes, a few hours, or a few days?

thanks

Longer than a few days in many circumstances. There are a couple of species of Palaemonetes genus shrimp that are called ghost shrimp. Some are more adapted to saltwater than freshwater, and vice versa. All can be brought over to the salinity level you want (from fresh to full salt) over the course of a few days. Then its a simple matter of feeding out to the proper tanks. :) Larval survival seems affected, but then I havent really done much ghost/grass shrimp raising to know for sure how much salinity matters.

To be sure the leaf fish should have a live meal by the time he's hungry. Just remember to acclimate them slowly.

Yeah if you acclimate for a few hours then they should live for days maby evan a few weeks.
