ive read so much on all kinds of skimmers but i just dont know what to do....

i have a 29g reef tank with sps lps and 3 fish

i want to try and spend under 200 but if i have to spend a little more thats fine ( but i dont wwant to to really)

what are yall opinions on the most efficient skimmer that i can just plug and play.... i dont really wanna have to mess with my skimmer to make it work or work better,,

i just wanna by one and plug it in a wait a while for it to break in and such ...

anyone have any ideas!!!!!!!!!!

you should go with ASM. i never have to adjust my ASM G3... for your tank you could get a ASM miniG skimmer. but i would go ahead and buy a sedra pump to replace the stocker. the miniG is the only G series skimmer that doesnt come with a sedra pump.

I have a 29 gallon SPS with 3 fish and have tried over a half dozen different skimmers. Of all the ones that I tried (bakpak, remora, coralife SS, deltec MCE600, ASM g2 and Deltec AP600), only the last two were truly set it and forget it.

Since you want under or around 200, the deltec is out (and massively overkill) so I'd suggest the ASM as well. I'd go for an ASM G1 or G2. I've heard some not too enthusiastic things about the mini-G.

That being said, if you go for the ASM, do pick up the gate valve mod. That thing is what makes it truly set and forget.

The RO MW series is also something to look at, but I have no experience with them.
