Has anyone tried replacing the impeller of a seio with a prop?

What are you looking to get out of doing that?

The Maxi-Jet mods try to become Seios, what are you changing Seios into?

You get about 2500+ gph out of a 14w maxijet. You get about 800gph out of an 18w SEIO. The maximods are 4-5 times are efficient.

Now, if you've got bigger SEIOS sitting around, they've got big powerful motors in them, and may be useful. IE the 1500 and 2600 can probably spin some seriously large props, and you can probably get 3-4 times as much flow.

I wouldnt be surpriced if the 2600 motor at 55w can spin a prop big enough to get 5-6K gph.

I dont see a real big gain from buying the smaller SEIOs to modify, as their motors are no stronger than the maxijet motors. Modifiying them, maybe.

The main problem is that the spin the opposite way of most props.

The body WOULD lend itself to propeller modifying, since it's already stream-based. You'd just need to notch out more.

Interesting idea.. I may have some spare Seios laying around once I am done replacing them with my 2nd vortech. Maybe I'll give it a shot :)
