i used aquaclear 70 on my 37 gallon reef. added sand, rubble, rock and chaeto. my overflow always has a bunch of pods. I sucked them out with baster and put them in fuge. added a shop light and a 6500 k bulb from walmart. the chaeto has grown a bunch so it must be taking some excess nutrients from water.

i have bad pic here.

A 6500 k bulb from walmart. Does it say 6500K? Is that what a lot of people use or is there a particular reason you choose it?

someone else reccomended it, it seems a lot of people use 5700k or 5100k and they work better. this bulb was very easily accessible and cheap.

Opps I'm sorry coraladdict I high jacked your thread. The two things I know that would help is just putting a divider between the impeller and rest of it. Not all the way up, but most of the way up to keep the level high. Then you can snap off some of the props(?) from the impeller if you would like to slow the flow or just cut some of them so they are not a large. This I think is the best way to slow the flow so you don't put pressure on the motor which shortens it's life. I don't know any good threads or sites, but are there any particular questions you had?
