is 492 watts over kill for a 55 gallon FOWLR that will be converted to reef?

stand: "solid wood base" the rest is press. it seems a little high, or they are!

retro: you can buy an "Outer Orbit" with built-in microprocesser ballast's, for about the same price. (24 hour cycle) actinics and moonlights with MH's.

REEF-ON!

no i don't think you can b/c the fans are on the side, but yet if you want to degregate the canopy it could work, i was planning on usinge two icecap fans on the back. this canopy is closed.

the mh retrofit will not fit in my canopy, back to the drawing board.

decide to use this, 2 on each side giving me a 520 watts or about9.5wpg. now will this work, i know its not MH but its like 200 bucks cheaper. i know that the 55 are deep but can it work and what do you think it could support?
