Hi guys!

My new 1" green maxima moved to another place. Our aquarists say that it have a leg and can cover a small distances. Is it true? My one moved on 9-10" at last night.

clams can move a great distance if they are not getting what they need or if they are being harassed by something else. clams mostly move laterally or down hill. i have seen and heard of them moving much further than your did. good luck with your nice looking clams.

I had this happen to me last night-my 1" maxima moved off a live rock and into the sand. I placed him back on the rock ( since I read it was recommended to place maxima's on rock). Should I have just left him alone (sorry to hijack the thread)?

clams move to where they get proper light and flow. your best bet(unless in a crazy place) is to let them stay where they go. once there you can usually place them more upright or turn them a little. good luck
