I'm considering going back to the AC14K that I used to run on my 44 gallon. I popped the 7 month old bulb in the left socket and I love the color. Really crisp white blue look. Par is a bit less then the XM but not very much on the icecap ballast. So should I make the jump? Will 3 of them light of my tank like the XM's do? I have extremely high growth in my tank now and I don't want to lose it but would like some nice pops in my corals.

I'll try to get a side by side picture tommorrow and see if anyone has any opinions. I hate lighting choices.

If you find a source for AC bulbs in the US, let me know ;)

I just changed my XM 10ks to hamilton 14ks SE. I like the color way better, going to watch things for a while and see if everything is happy, so far so good.

Only thing I didnt care about the hamilitons was the low par. I know 2 places who sell them. One is for 119 and the other is 100.19. If you want, I'll post the links.

Where did you find them for $100?

Store in tampa has them. I emailed them to see if they have any in stock. I saw them post on another site on 8/6 saying they had 50 I believe. If they do have them, I'll post their info. There store locally is really nice.

Talked to the store and they only have 175w left. The company they deal with to get them I guess is really horrible to deal with. So I guess I have to get em from the other place at 119 a bulb.

Here is the link for that one.
