Ok so i had posted my prop tank on the show off your prop tank forum, and the only feedback i got was that my light is gonna fall in, well i fixed that and its going to be hung from the ceiling now. ok but now i have a new problem, when i first filled it with freshwater to see the effect it'd have on the container i did that and left it that way for a few days and it only seemed to bow a tiny bit, now tohat i've had it filled with salt for about a week or more it is bowing more and more every day. I'm afraid if it keeps going its going to break. With keeping the same container, can anyone think of anyway to brace the container up at all?

that is what it did look like, even when i first put the water in it, the form only bowed out maybe about an inch, now its a good six or more inches further out than that. I'm afraid i'll wake up one morning and its not gonna be there anymore. any ideas? thanks.

Just wrap some duct tape up there a few inches from the top.
Or double up and snag another rubbermaid for double strength.

hm i like the duct tape idea. i thought about doubling it up, but i can't because of the way the filters are cut into the back. the new one would also have to be cut, which would again cut down on how sturdy the whole thing is. But yeah i might try the duct tape. any other ideas?

Thought of that too, then i realized the filters are still in the way. I think i've come up with a solution. i have 3/4 inch steel angle iron and i'm going to cut it so it fits tightly around it, and its small enough to fit under the filters. i think i've got a solution. Thanks for the imput tho everyone

Do you still have the lid? Can cut around the inside of the lid and place it on top. Sort of a ghetto eurobrace. I did this to my brute container when I was holding live rock, worked quite well.
PLEASE hang that light. I don't like dead reef buddies who got that way to save $10 bucks.

Clip a bungie cord hook under the lip on one side then stretch across to the opposite side, Dick Perrin did the same thing proportionately with garden hose on his big 16' ply tanks.
Ditto on hanging the light, you are courting disaster.

I wanted to hang the light from the beginning, it was just my mom that wouldn't let me do it. so i was going to do the pvc thing, and then i was going to find a way to like, bolt it down to the container, so there was no way it was going anywhere, but i'd rather hang it anyway. And the angle irons fit perfect around the back of the tank under the filters, after work today i'm going to put them on then i'll take pictures and let you know how it works. But i'll definately remember all the other ideas for future projects because they all sound like they'd work.

So i put the angle irons on and they work perfect, and barely take up any room. i actually even kind of like the way they look haha. so thanks for the suggestions

if you cant hang it then build a stand so it can be seperate from the tub.
mom will be really PO'd when the house catches fire!!!
you could use pvc with holes drilled in the ends, then zip tie the pvc to the tub.
sterilite makes a stiffer product and shallower also. turns out they work better for fragging like this.
