Okay so I am going to set up a small prop tank for zoa, xenias, some sps. The tank will be a 18.5L x 18.5W x 11H. I will be lit by a 150mh will have some lr and ls. What I want to do is only use the back 6" for my frags and the rest for a mini display. No sump but will have a CSS65 skimmer and will use some carbon in a reactor to keep water clean. I already have all the equiment from my old 20g tank so nothing will be brand new other then the tank. I want to keep it to a small ops so that is why I went with the size tank I went with. For flow I will use two MJ1200 on a redsea wavemaker. I will have a 5g tank for top off and kalk reator for as well. So what do you think. Did I leave anything else out. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it will be a nice setup. You should get great random water movement with the MJ on wavemaker in that size tank. Good luck with it. Update with pics when you get it all set up and running.

lets see some pics Mchava!

I hate these these threads..."I'm going to..." , "I'm planning on...."

Mchava, you know what it takes to grow sps, so get to it!

why not plumb to your main display?

dont have the room next to my display tank. If I did i would have done that instead. I am going to grow sps but is will most likely be the regular none high dollar stuff more of your standard sps, mostly I am doing zoas and xenia and chalices.

I just set my 30 gal prop tank up yesterday, I have starboard 10 inches deep, and a mag 7 feeding it with a mj 1200 for flow, and underneath and to the side I have caulerpa, and chaeto, the whole thing is lit by 6 t5's aquablue 10k's, and I am running it with a reverse photoperiod.

I also have about 10 frags in it already.

I still have to make the frag rack but iam not sure how to do set it up. The more and more I think about it I might just set up a sump for it just to keep all the equipment on the sump and have a larger water volume.

Nice, who makes that size tank? Is that a 20gal? What kind of lights and light fixture is that? Keep up the good work.

not sure who made the tank, I found it at a lfs. I think is't a 20g but not sure. The light fixture is a PFO 250/400 watt DE pendent but I retrofit a 150 since that is what I had available. The bulb is a 14k Aquaconnect.
