Does anyone have any tips to get my mushrooms to open up better? Everthing in the tank is doing good besides them.

I have mine up high in my tank they do good in the light I have a 20gal tank with 218 watts CF lighting.

Work with the flow or possibly the light. I have found that when there is to much flow on my shrooms, they do not open fully.

I had mine down lower and it would open up like an inverted umbrella does..it was stretching for the light. so moved it up and now it opens really wide and flat agains the rock, and in the past week i see 2 new mushrooms opening up underneith it.

I agree that flow and lighting should be checked.

mid to high light

mid to low flow

Mine have thrived in low flow, low to med light. I had four 65W PCs on a 55 G and the mushrooms flourished. In fact, they took over the tank and became a nuisance!

I found flow changed my rooms a lot too. They need flow, but almost more "indirect" flow.
